FEATURED STORE

Something chic, yet, funky has shown up in downtown Fargo. Furniture
and clothing boutique Vlana Vlee offers an atmosphere and style
that will entice shoppers looking for something different. Mother-daughter
team Julie Smith and Brittany Duffey opened their first store
in Bismarck with the idea of one day making it into a chain. Duffey
says the success of the initial
location lead to the next step - Fargo.
The store’s name is inspired by Smith’s childhood
cousin and playmate, and it’s not the only unique thing
the boutique has to offer. Vlana Vlee is a perfect mix of industrial
and feminine. The warehouse-like location is softened by crystal
chandeliers, a vintage candy counter and plush lounges. A mix
of furniture, much of which is Vlana Vlee’s own line, is
available and ranges from classic and woodsy to quirky and modern.
Hand painted martini glasses and bath products that come in fun
vintage bottles make great gifts for the holiday season.
For the fashionista, brands such as Diesel, BCBG, Max Azria and
Betsy Johnson are available mixed in with great staple pieces
such as jeans, trousers, and t-shirts. Charming dresses, frilly
skirts and vintage inspired jewelry line the walls, aiding in
the overall girly appeal. Vlanna Vlee also carries a variety of
children’s products, ranging from organic cotton onesies
to an over-the-top airplane rocker.
Shoppers can expect even more to come as the store settles in
over the next month, just in time for the holidays.
